Mission

Research, plan, and lead a local, non-violent, Democratic resistance to defend our community, liberties, and democracy.

Meeting Cadence

We meet via Zoom on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month from 7:00 – 8:00 PM.
We also get together for coffee on the second Sunday of each month, and encourage folks to join the organization’s Pop-Up Socials on the last Friday of each month.

Nonviolence is a common form of mobilization used by movements focused on resistance through relationship-building, grassroots organizing, strategy, and planning. While it has often included taking action through protests, demonstrations, strikes, and noncooperation, to build power and achieve political goals, all forms of nonviolent resistance trace their power and effectiveness back to collective action.

On November 12, 2025, our organization officially launched our Nonviolent Resistance Committee as an ad-hoc committee focused on developing a mutual aid network in and around the 34th Legislative District. The Non-Violent Resistance Committee will perform its research by asking vulnerable communities what support they need, talking to experts in non-violent resistance, legal experts, historians, and peers in impacted cities.

The committee will explore what forms of non-violent resistance have been tried, what has worked, what has failed, and what is most likely to work here at home. It will work collaboratively with other organizations dedicated to non-violent resistance or supporting vulnerable communities that are being targeted by the Trump administration. We do this by:

Identifying threats to our communities, liberties, or democracy.

Researching nonviolent strategies to resist those threats.

Turning our research into plans and advisory reports to guide community action.

Activating our plans and leading a local, nonviolent, Democratic resistance.
