Monday, February 15, 2010 Legislative Action Day, Olympia
• Come to Olympia with the Legislative Action Committee to see how the legislature works and to talk to your legislators.
• This year's group will be addressed by Governor Gregoire, given an overview of priority bills and receive brief presentations by King County Legislators. In the afternoon, attendees will be given the opportunity to meet one-on-one with legislators or attend presentations given by our delegation - Senator Joe McDermott, Representatives Sharon Nelson and Eileen Cody.
• The King County Demorats requests a $20 donation for a box lunch that will be served during the presentations. Attendees should bring a check made out to King County Democrats.

Thursday, February 18, 2010 Outreach Committee Meeting
• The next outreach committee meeting will be 7:00 PM, Thursday February 18, 7PM At Mick Kellys. The address is 435 SW 152nd in Burien.
Our agenda will be to determine what we want to achieve from each event and how do we do it. See list of events on the Outreach Committee web page. So think about it and bring your ideas.
Item 2 will be to come up with a list of organizations we want to try to help and deterimine how we can do it.

• The Outreach Committee plans voter registration drives, information and voter registration tables at festivals and other events, and local community activities, such as neighborhood cleanups.

• An informal, inclusive Democratic drinking club. Raise your spirits while you raise your glass, and share ideas while you share a pitcher. Drinking Liberally gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place to talk politics. You don't need to be a policy expert and this isn't a book club - just come and learn from peers, trade jokes, vent frustration and hang out in an environment where it's not taboo to talk politics.
• Bars are democratic spaces - you talk to strangers, you share booths, you feel the bond of common ground. Bring democratic discourse to your local democratic space - build Democracy one drink at a time.

• After sifting through the input from our initial Committee meeting and our E-board working group, Jeff Upthegrove has developed a set of proposed 2009 projects for the Membership Committee (download them here). Bear in mind these are just proposals. Anyone interested in attending the meeting on the 15th should please review these ideas and be prepared to make suggestions for additions, subtractions or alterations. Others are welcome and encouraged to email their input. See also Membership Committee page on this website.

TBD, 2009 34th District Leadership Development Team
• Working to improve the leadership of the 34th District Democrats - this meeting will finalize the proposed new organization structure and rules for the Executive Board, based upon input from many sources. All 34th District members are welcome to attend.
• Meeting at Elliot Bay Brewery on Monday 10/20 starting at 6:30 to 8:30 pm to finalize the rules for standing committees as approved by the E-Board for passing onto to the By-Laws and Rules Committee, to discuss our role for the upcoming reorganization, and consider any further action items that we might want to take up as a committee.
